World Cup (Coming Soon)

The World Cup is a community-run competition where teams play by nationality (for example a Brazil squad or an Italy squad). The whole flow is designed to be simple for players. Most of it runs automatically.

A nationality needs a coach. Players are called up to the national squad. If the squad wins a prize at the championship, the prize is shared between the coach and the called-up players.

Users apply on the platform to coach a national team. To apply you need a minimum standing in the game, for example a Gold league rating or above. This keeps the coach race tied to real in-game performance.

Each nationality has an application window with a deadline.

Once the application window closes, the community votes for the coaches. Voting power blends how much you stake with how active you are in the game, so it rewards real participation rather than only passive staking.

The working idea for the formula looks like this:

Voting Power = sqrt( total FOXSY in Metastaking/Dual Farm ) x (ELO / 1000)

When voting ends, the winning coach for each nationality is whitelisted on chain as that nation’s World Cup coach.

A whitelisted coach gets a dedicated menu in the FoxLeague platform. From there the coach can:

  • Search every player of that nationality across the platform
  • See where each player currently plays plus their stats
  • Send a call-up request to a player

If the owner of that player accepts, the player joins a national-squad management contract for the duration of the championship. A national team can call up to 20 players.

If the national team wins a prize, the prize is split. The working idea is roughly 50% to the coach with the remainder shared across the called-up players. A player’s share can be unequal based on contribution such as minutes played, whether they were in the first XI or a substitute, goals scored.

After the championship the players return to their clubs, bringing the reward received for participation plus any additional prizes the squad won.
